Summary

This position serves as a Management & Program Analyst, assigned to the Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) within the Office of Acquisitions and Logistics (OA&L) and works under the general supervision of the Vice Chancellor, Acquisition Internship School (AIS) in Frederick, Maryland. The primary purpose of this position is to provide staff administrative analytical and evaluative work related to program operations, and management and organizational efficiency.

Duties

The incumbent will serve in a developmental assignment to provide the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the full range of duties as described in the target position description. Duties include but is not limited to: Advises leadership on correct procedures for numerous administrative actions, ensuring accuracy of completed work. Reviews correspondence to ensure it conforms to established agency guidelines, including spelling, grammar, and formatting. Monitors, identifies and highlights issues. Coordinates resolution of issues to the extent possible and determines what issues must be addressed by senior leadership in the organization. Monitors and participates in special projects. Attends meetings with, or on behalf of, senior management officials and completes follow-up on actions resulting from meetings. Monitors activities or actions of the organization and keeps senior leadership properly informed of the highest priority items; ensures appropriate individuals are aware of actions requiring their attention and follows up to ensure actions are properly completed. The incumbent works with the Director of Intern Programs and Vice-Chancellors to collect, manage, analyze, and report performance and program data in support of the AIS and VAAA accomplishment of operational performance goals and metrics. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
