Summary

This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Office of the Chief of Staff (OCoS), serving as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), providing Veterans Affairs Information Technology oversight, planning, integration, and reporting while ensuring compliance with Federal regulations.

Duties

OIT Mission: The mission of the Office of Information and Technology (OIT) is to collaborate with our business partners to create the best experience for all Veterans. OIT Vision: To become a world-class organization that provides a seamless, unified Veteran experience through the delivery of state-of-the-art technology. Major Duties: Review, analyze, and consolidate IT program performance, risks, issues, metrics, and deliverables for executive-level reporting. Evaluate IT risks, threats, program health, and maturity, and develop mitigation strategies and recommendations. Develop and improve IT program management processes, policies, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to enhance delivery and workforce effectiveness. Evaluate the IT threat landscape, program risks, mitigation strategies, and the overall health and maturity of VA IT programs. Develop and maintain VA IT strategic plans, goals, objectives, and tasks while ensuring alignment with Department-wide strategies and Federal policies. Assess, develop, and revise IT policies, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations, information security requirements, and Government-wide standards. Interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines, and identify business and technical requirements for the design, implementation, management, and support of IT systems and networks. This is a non-bargaining unit position. This position is primarily aligned to the following NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework work role: Cybersecurity Code 752: Cyber Policy and Strategy Planner. Develops cyberspace plans, strategy and policy to support and align with organizational cyberspace missions and initiatives. Remote: This is not a remote position Physical Demands: The work is sedentary. Working Conditions: The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.
