Summary
The Enterprise Data Architecture Division (EDAD) is responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust enterprise data architecture program, to standardize, streamline, and enhance enterprise data for organizational use and for digital efficiency in meeting business objectives.
Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year. This position serves as the IT Specialist (DATAMGT), GS-09: You are excited about supporting agency-wide efforts to define and share data used to conduct USPTO business and helping more senior data architects improve data governance and data quality. You are interested in learning how to assist senior data architects with Extensible Markup Language (XML) and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) schema design using USPTO-approved tools, techniques, and standards, and by reusing applicable XML/JSON standard structures. You enjoy analyzing business and technical requirements, identifying applicable data requirements, supporting the standardization and management of data elements, and preparing or maintaining enterprise data structure artifacts such as data models, data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and interface diagrams. You are motivated to participate in baseline data quality assessments for data migration, data profiling and monitoring efforts, and data redundancy analysis.
