Summary

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, Military S&TI Directorate, Emerging and Disruptive Technologies Division, Charlottesville, VA 22911.

Duties

Serves as a branch chief in the Military Scientific and Technical Intelligence Directorate, including the Emerging and Disruptive Technologies, Aviation and Artillery, or Anti-Access Area Denial Divisions.

Responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating resources for scientific and technical intelligence (S and TI) production.

Leads a branch that assesses technology trends, underlying technologies, and characteristics and performance of ground force weapons systems and/or military applications of emerging technologies.

Position requires significant judgement and ingenuity to integrate a wide variety of specialized analytical functions.

Plans and prioritizes both ongoing work and special projects, effectively using employee skills, applicable scientific and technical (S and T) principles, and branch resources to accomplish objectives.

Reviews work for S and T soundness, adherence to policy, and accomplishment of program objectives.

Collaborates to develop and execute professional development plans that grow knowledge, skills, and abilities of branch members.

Work requires frequent contact within an extensive service and customer network that includes S and T organizations, warfighters, and decision makers outside of NGIC.
