Summary

This position is part of the Department of Energy's Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (IN). As an Intelligence Research Specialist, you will provides intelligence analysis of foreign nuclear capabilities and intentions under the Foreign Nuclear Programs Division (FNPD).

Duties

This is an Excepted Service position. This appointment will not confer Competitive Service career-conditional or career tenure status. This means that if you are selected, you would have to compete with other applicants in open competition to meet requirements for another Federal position, unless you meet the requirements for reinstatement. Applicants who voluntarily convert from the competitive service, Senior Executive Service, or other pay systems to a non-time limited appointment under this excepted service authority are not afforded "fallback rights" to the pay system previously assigned prior to conversion. At the full performance level of a GS-14 Intelligence Research Specialist, you will: Independently provide complex intelligence analysis on foreign nuclear weapons, proliferation, and arms control. Produce finished intelligence assessments with comprehensive national security insights for senior policy makers and decision-makers. Develop high-impact intelligence collection requirements to address national-level priorities for analytical projects. Provide subject matter expertise on nuclear weapons, proliferation, and arms control to the intelligence community and policy makers, including regular briefings. Oversee and track a portfolio of National Laboratory research projects. Review, modify, and approve draft publications and intelligence products in order to ensure compliance with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.
