Summary
This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Financial Management Division (FC), Office of Finance (FN), Financial Management Software Engineering Section (FNE). This position(s) primary purpose is to serve as a critical component across all phases of the software development lifecycle to include planning, requirements analysis, system design, software programming/coding, quality assurance/testing. deployment, operations, maintenance, and de-commission.
Duties
As a Information Technology Specialist (APPSW), your typical work assignments may include: Gathers initial requirements, assesses feasibility, estimates cost and required resources, and helps develop the high-level project plan. Evaluates and improves agency-wide financial management procedures and develops solutions to meet evolving business needs. Leads infrastructure configuration and management to support multiple environments. Builds IT solutions using modern program languages and software design patterns. Utilizes modern software management methodologies and tools to help manage requirements throughout the software development cycle. Helps support the development user guides and other functional documentation. Evaluates emerging technologies and develop strategic plans for modifications to approved technology stack.
