Summary

This File Clerk position is in Community Care services at the Manchester VA Medical Center, located at the Manchester location. This position is a full-time at 40 hours per week.

Duties

Must have the knowledge to perform quality assurance audits on all areas of scanned documents to assure quality of image, identification accuracy, date of service, location, and retrievability. Broad working knowledge of functions and procedures of the Medical Center is necessary to properly coordinate the informational needs of administrative and clinical staff. Must have knowledge of the Privacy Act of 1974 and the HIPAA guidelines. They must protect the confidentiality of the variety of material that will be handled. Knowledge of filing sequence of both administrative and medical records is necessary to properly index and scan information into Vista/CPRS. Must display good oral and written communication skills, using tact and diplomacy in communicating with a wide variety of employees at all levels of the organization and outside healthcare facilities. Must have the ability to train other staff on computerized filing systems. Will be required to keep abreast of regulatory requirement governing scanning and maintenance and disposition of legal medical documents scanned. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm.
