Summary
The Executive Assistant serves as the principal senior advisor and enterprise program strategist for the Deputy Director of EEO Field Operations. The incumbent leads high-impact, department-wide initiatives and exercises authoritative judgment in shaping policies, programs, and operational strategies that directly influence VA's equal employment opportunity operations, strategic planning, modernization efforts, interagency engagement, and service delivery to Veterans.
Duties
Coordinates workflow, manages schedules, establishes protocols for communication and document handling, and implements systems to streamline processes. Managing a wide range of sensitive, confidential and complex tasks which are of direct personal interest and concern to the Supervisor. Prepares assorted memoranda, letters, responses to stakeholder inquiries and other written communications as required. Monitors program accomplishments/progress and identifies actual or potential problem areas, trends, significant program accomplishments, merit and deficiency situations, areas of imbalance or other similar factors. Provide analytical support for responses to Congress, OMB, the White House staff, media, and other sources regarding special inquiries regarding VA-wide operations. Oversees formulation and execution of project budgets, evaluates manpower utilization, and optimizes resource distribution to support high-visibility programs and modernization efforts. Directs interdisciplinary teams, integrates diverse functional areas (IT, HR, legal, policy, operations), and establishes criteria for enterprise project success.
