Summary

This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management (DTSEM) in the OSHA Technical Center, Engineering Division, located in Sandy, UT. The full performance level of this position is GS-11. This position is inside the bargaining unit. This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office above.

Duties

Duties for the Electronics Technician position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists engineers in the maintenance of instrument calibration systems that provide a working standard against which field instruments will be tested and calibrated. Assists in the development of calibration procedures, recommends changes and improvements to existing procedures, which are used to evaluate the instruments accurately and identify possible deviations from OSHA inspection requirements or national standards. Determines the need and initiates requisitions for spare parts for both the safety and industrial hygiene instruments and associated calibration systems that the technician works on or with. Maintains records of work performed and prepares special reports on instrument performance as assigned. As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex with less supervision.
