Summary
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) Systems Department (N6), IT Service Execution Division (N64), Combat Logistics C4 Support (N641), Ordnance/ Dry Cargo C4 Support Unit (N6412) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will have knowledge of the regulatory requirements for ships and their equipment such as American Bureau of Shipping, United States Coast Guard, and Federal Communications Commission.
You will have knowledge of advanced theory, concepts, principles, and practices in the electrical and electronic field which enables incumbents to apply practical knowledge of electronic theories and principles in resolving issues.
You will inspect MSC ships for compliance with internal official policies and procedures for vessel navigational, radio communication and general electronic equipment with emphasis on reliability and reparability.
You will provide budgetary inputs for general electronic system maintenance and repair work and expected electronics improvement projects.
You will examine shipboard navigation and communication facilities to ensure ships are capable of maintaining satisfactory communications with the Navy and MSC fleet, applicable shore facilities and mission sponsors as required.
You will review maintenance documentation and provides input for the development of maintenance plans.
You will collaborate with engineers to complete ship maintenance, repair, or modernization projects.
