The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the Director of Protocol for Headquarters Air University (AU); to serve as the senior protocol expert and program manager to the AU Commander/President, Vice Commander, and to all echelons of AU and tenant organizations at Maxwell AFB, Gunter Annex.
Duties
As the Director of Protocol, plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Protocol office, ensuring that Protocol activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Serves as the principal advisor on all protocol matters, to the Commander and President, Air University to plan, organize, and direct the full range of protocol activities for Air University. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work of subordinate employees. Develops, directs and executes comprehensive plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions and activities requiring the periodic direction and involvement of AU and or base installation. Resource Advisor. Provides planning, programming, budgeting and financial analysis for AU. Procures, distributes and monitors Air Force segments of appropriated funds for AU, as a personal staff office in direct supporting of the AU/Commander/President. Air University Liaison to the City of Montgomery: Serves as the primary liaison with the City of Montgomery on special events involving the civilian community.
