Summary

The Deputy Executive Director for Loan Guaranty Service (LGY) provides executive-level leadership in the development and implementation of policy, planning, operations, and integration of the nationwide home loan and Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) programs administered by the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).

Duties

The position is in Loan Guaranty Service, Veterans Benefits Administration's (VBA) and reports to the Executive Director, Loan Guaranty Service. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Establishing policy and technical operations for the Loan Guaranty program. Evaluating program effectiveness and mission accomplishment throughout the organization. Providing guidance regarding policy matters relating to budget, staffing and other administrative aspects of the Loan Guaranty Program on a nationwide scale. Directing the continuous analysis and evaluation of economic data and trends affecting residential financing, Establishing and monitoring performance measures and accountability mechanisms to evaluate organizational effectiveness and support continuous improvement initiatives. Identifying emerging risks and trends affecting the nationwide mortgage industry and providing recommendations to mitigate operational, financial, and programmatic risks impacting Loan Guaranty operations

The selected individual's application will be forwarded to the OPM for review and certification by the QRB, unless the selectee provides evidence of their noncompetitive status (i.e., a current SES, OPM QRB certified SESCDP graduate, or SES reinstatement eligible). Upon QRB certification, the selected individual will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
