Duties

You will serve as the New Parent Home Support Visitor providing New Parent Support Program (NPSP) services.

You will coordinate a New Parent Support (NPS) program for compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

You will coordinate support services for expectant parents during pregnancy to education on prenatal or postpartum programs with individualized center and home-based assessments.

You will provide prenatal and postpartum education and support to new parents.

You will discuss with staff members technical aspects on New Parent Support Program policies and procedures.

You will promote and publicize training resources available for social services programs.

You will administer ongoing case management services to assess individual or family needs.

Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Basic education requirements for the GS-0101, Professional Social Science Series: Have successfully completed a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled OR Have a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Basic education requirements for the GS-0185, Professional Social Work Series: Have successfully completed a degree in social work that fulfills all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. OR Have successfully completed a master's degree in social work with practicum.
