Summary
About the Position: This position is located with the Headquarters Department of the Army, Office of the General Counsel, Operations and Personnel at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. If you are currently serving in a permanent, competitive service appointment in the Federal service, and are selected for this position, the appointment will remove you from the competitive service while you occupy this position.
Duties
Serves as Senior Attorney Advisor and Chief of Staff for the Office of the Army General Counsel.
Advises Army Secretariat, Army Staff, and other senior Army officials concerning a wide variety of legal issues arising from the operation of the Army.
Conducts legal review of strategic, extremely complex and difficult policy, legal, and factual questions or issues presented to the General Counsel’s office.
Completes special projects in subjects of particular interest to superiors, the Secretary of the Army, or to other Secretariat officials.
Directly responsible for the efficient and timely coordination of all major office staff actions and events.
Oversees all office administrative and management functions, including personnel, information technology, procurement and budget.
Directs OGC professional development by planning, tracking, and supervising all employee training.
Manages work assignments by matching task difficulty and priorities with staff capabilities.
Creates project schedules, evaluates performance, and provides guidance on work and administrative matters.
